Casalvieri is an Italian commune in the Lazio region , Frosinone province in central Italy with 2581 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is 46 km east of Frosinone and 127 km east of Rome .

geography

Casalvieri is located on a hill above the Melfa valley. It is a member of the Comunità Montana Valle di Comino .

history

Casalvieri was already settled by the Volscores and Romans . The first written mention, however, comes from the year 1017. In 1076 the place came to the Abbey of Montecassino .

In 1915 Casalvieri was badly hit by an earthquake and there was also serious damage during World War II.
