Prasklice (German Prasklitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northwest of Morkovice-Slížany and belongs to the Okres Kroměříž .

geography

Prasklice is located in the northern foothills of the Littentschitzer hill country at the transition to the Upper Moravian Depression ( Hornomoravský úval ). The street village stretches along the slopes on both sides of the Švábský creek. To the north rises the Křéby (277 m) and in the northeast of the Vejvaň (298 m). The disused Nezamyslice – Morkovice railway runs a good kilometer to the east .

Neighboring towns are Mořice and Unčice in the north, Uhřice in the Northeast, Pančocha and Počenice the east, Morkovice in the southeast, Pornice in the south, Kratochvíle, Pačlavice and Moravské Málkovice in the southwest, Dětkovice the west and Okluky, Osíčany , Koválovice u Tištína and Tištín in northwest .

history

The Prasklicz manor and a mill were first mentioned in writing in 1355, when Markvart von Morkovice sold the property to Margrave Johann Heinrich . In the following time, a German colonization of the village began. When Margrave Jobst of Moravia sold the estate to the Olomouc Chapter in 1385 for 580 shocks of Prague groschen, it was called Prasklice alias Colben . The German name Colben was later not mentioned. In 1464 there was a manorial court and a desert festival in Prasklice. On June 27, 1603, the cathedral chapter sold its share in Prasklice for 4,000 guilders to Bohuš von Zástřizl , who already owned the other share and in 1618 connected the entire estate to his rule Morkovice. At the beginning of the 17th century the village consisted of 31 farms. During the Thirty Years' War Prasklice became deserted. In 1667, 15 properties were still in desolation and another two were still in the deadline for being newly settled. The following owners included the Counts Braida, who sold the stately mill in 1769. A school was set up in the village in 1788, but classes did not actually begin until 1806 after a school building was completed. In 1837 the Morkovice landlord František Ariola had a new school built elsewhere. Until the middle of the 19th century Prasklice always remained subordinate to Morkovice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Prasklice / Prasklitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Kroměříž. In 1852 the wooden bell tower on the village green was demolished and a chapel was built in its place. Anna was consecrated. On May 16, 1856, a great fire broke out in Prasklice; twelve residents died and 22 buildings were destroyed. At the end of the 19th century, the municipality used the name Prasklesy as an alternative . In 1900 the village had 518 inhabitants. The school was expanded in 1901 for 16,000 kroner for two-class tuition and in 1907 116 children were enrolled. In 1902 a parish of its own was established in Prasklice. At the beginning of 1961 Prasklice was merged with Uhřice to form a municipality Uhřice-Prasklice . At the end of the 1981/82 school year, teaching in Prasklice was discontinued and the children were retrained to Morkovice. The schoolhouse was later converted into a municipal office. The community of Uhřice-Prasklice dissolved on January 1st, 1992.
