history

Ozcicih was first mentioned in writing in 1141 in an inventory of the Olomouc bishop Heinrich Zdik . There is evidence of a parish in Hossicz since 1341 . In 1398 the village was named Hossczycz , 1412 Hostycz , 1466 Hosscžicz and 1561 Hosstzicze . In addition to the Vladiken von Hoštice, numerous other families, including the Lords von Krawarn , von Zástřizl and the Knights von Hrádek, alternated as owners of the estate . In 1685 the Žalkovský from Žalkovice bought the estate. They held the property until 1766, when the castle and parish church were built. Ferdinand von Geißlern , who acquired the estate in 1799, led Hoschtitz to an economic boom. The landowner, also known as the Moravian Bakewell , made great contributions to sheep breeding, clover cultivation and pomology. As a result, Hoschtitz gained importance as a model property far beyond the borders of Moravia. Until the middle of the 19th century, Hoštice always remained an independent allodial property.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hoštice / Hoschtitz formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Kroměříž. The residents lived from agriculture. In 1875 the Dubský from Třebomyslice on Zdislavice bought the estate.

At the end of the Second World War , on April 19, 1945, a German general Dietrich von Müller was captured by Czech partisans in the castle .

At the beginning of 1986 Hoštice was incorporated into Litenčice. Since July 1, 1990, Hoštice has again formed its own municipality. Between 2006 and 2009 the former school was converted into a municipal office.
