Jankovice (German Jankowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers northeast of Holešov and belongs to the Okres Kroměříž .

geography

Jankovice is located at the western foot of the Hostein Mountains at the transition to the Upper Moravian Depression ( Hornomoravský úval ). The village lies on the left bank of the Rusava at the confluence of the Zhrta and Dědinka. The Chlum (418 m), the Hůrka (421 m) and the Hostýn (734 m) rise to the northeast, the Nad Pasekami (588 m) and the Barvínek (571 m) to the east, and the Poschlá (629 m) and Lysina to the southeast (597 m), in the south the Hrádek (502 m), southwest of the Hradisko (281 m) and in the west the Kopaniny (357 m). The Hulín - Valašské Meziříčí railway line runs through Jankovice, and there is a train station in the village. The extinct village of Jaroslavice was near Lipiny.

Neighboring towns are Hlinsko pod Hostýnem in the north, Chlum and Chomýž in the northeast, Hranečník and Rusava in the east, Lukoveček and Hadovna in the southeast, Lysina and Žopy in the south, Dobrotice and Želkov in the southwest, Tučapy and Bořenovice in the west and Lipiny and Prusinovice in the north-west.

history

The village was founded around 1360 by Jeník von Dobrotice. According to a legend, the inhabitants of Malíkovy moved to the new village and gave up Malíkovy. The first written mention of Jenicouicz was in the land table in 1365 , when Jeník assigned the village to Boček I of Podebrady , who attached it to his rule Obřany . After the castle fell, the seat of the manor was moved to Bystřice pod Hostýnem before 1447 . In 1527 the place was called Genikowicz . The owners, who changed many times, included the Lords of Cimburg , von Lobkowicz and, from 1650, Johann von Rottal . The place name Jenikowicz is passed down from 1672, Janikowitz from 1718 and Iankowitz from 1720 . With the death of Marie Anna von Rottal, married von Lamberg , the von Rottal family died out in 1762. The following year, Jankowicz fell to Franz Maximilian Nádasdy as part of the division of the inheritance , who joined it to the Holešov reign. At that time, the place consisted of 23 properties, ten of which were farmers, two quarter hoppers , six Posedeken , four Kötter and one miller. In Jankowicz there was a hereditary bailiwick that had the right to be a drink and was exempt from labor. In 1780 the place had grown to 24 farms. Until the middle of the 19th century Jankowice always remained submissive to Holešov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Jankowice / Jankowitz formed from 1850 a community in the district authority Holleschau . In contrast to the district town, Jankowice has always been a purely Czech village. In the years 1880 to 1888 the construction of the railway from Hullein to Wallachisch Meseritsch took place , which crossed the village. The local council was not impressed by this project and refused to set up a stop in the village. Between 1888 and 1900 the municipality had a dispute with Dobrotice about building a new school. The Dobrotice municipality tried to prevent this, as the majority of the children enrolled there came from Jankovice. In 1900 the construction of a school began. In 1912 a fruit kiln was built on the Anger across from the forge. After Czechoslovakia was proclaimed in 1919, the liberty linden tree was planted on the memorial cross in front of the school. In the 1921 census, 397 people lived in the 66 houses in Jankovice. The two-class classes began in 1925. In 1937 the village was electrified. After the dissolution of the Okres Holešov, the community was assigned to the Okres Kroměříž in 1960. In 1974 the school was closed and a kindergarten was established in it, which existed until 1985. In 1976 a geological survey of the area was carried out. A gas accumulation was reached at a depth of 370 m, which set the drilling rig on fire. The Hájíčka excursion site was established in 1978. On July 6th and 7th, 1997, the municipality was hit by the flood of the Rusava River. In 2010, the 650th anniversary was celebrated.
