history
Cassiz was first mentioned in writing in 1267 in the will of Bruno von Schauenburg . In it the bishop bequeathed the village belonging to him to the church of St. Mauritius and the collegiate chapter in Kremsier . In 1290 the village was referred to as Kaschiz , 1327 as Skacich , 1405 as Skaštic , 1406 as Kasczics and 1489 as Skaštice . The oldest local seal dates from 1684 and bears the inscription OBECZNY * PECZET * DIEDINI * KASSTICZ * 1684 . The place has always been parish of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kremsier. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to the Kremsier episcopal rule.
After the abolition of patrimonial Skaščice / Skaschitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the Kremsier district administration. The current place name Skaštice has been used since 1872. In 1895 a new school building was inaugurated; it is now used as a kindergarten, gym, library and doctor's office. At the beginning of 1986 Skaštice was incorporated into Kroměříž. On February 28, 1990, Skaštice broke away from Kroměříž and formed its own municipality. Since 2004 Skaštice has had a coat of arms and a banner. Ethnographically the village belongs to Hanna .
