Bořenovice (German Borschenowitz , formerly Borzenowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers north of Holešov and belongs to the Okres Kroměříž .

geography

Bořenovice is located in the western foothills of the Podbeskydská pahorkatina ( Vorbeskidenhügelland ) at the transition to the Upper Moravian Depression ( Hornomoravský úval ). The village extends in the basin of a small tributary to the Rymický creek. The Kamenec (295 m) and the Pastviska (318 m) rise to the north, the Kopaniny (357 m) to the east and the Blaně (216 m) to the south.

Neighboring towns are Zámeček and Pacetluky in the north, Prusinovice and Hlinsko pod Hostýnem in the north-east, Lipina, Chomýž and Jankovice in the east, Tučapy in the south-east, Holešov , Novosady and Všetuly in the south, Količín and Rymice in the south-west, Němčice in the north-west and Roštěnice in the west.

history

Archaeological finds prove an early settlement of the community area. The first written mention of Borsenowicz took place in 1371, when Jeník von Dobrotice sold the village together with Radkovy to Matouš von Sternberg auf Lukov . The Lords of Sternberg held Borzenowicze until 1448, after which different sexes took turns as owners. From 1650 on, Johann von Rottal belonged to them , who united the dominions of Bistritz and Holleschau into one great dominion. The inhabitants of the place earned their living mostly by hand weaving. In 1717 a weaving guild was formed in Prusinovice , which also included the weavers from Bořenovice, Roštění , Kostelec , Líšná and Pacetluky . The oldest local seal comes from the middle of the 18th century, it bears the inscription PECZET OBECZNI DIEDINI BORZENOWITZ and shows a linden tree. After the von Rottal family died out, the inheritance fell to Franz Anton von Rottal's son-in-law Franz Maximilian Nádasdy in 1762 , who sold the rule to Count Erdődy . Until the middle of the 19th century, the place was always subject to Holešov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bořenowice / Borzenowitz formed from 1850 a community in the district authority Holleschau. In 1858 the Erdődy counts sold their goods in Holešov with all their accessories to the von Würben counts . The place name Bořenovice has been used since 1872 . The weaving trade, which was not competitive due to outdated technology with the flourishing textile industry, experienced its decline during this time. In 1961 the community was added to the Okres Kroměříž . On August 15, 1976 it was incorporated into Holešov . Bořenovice has been an independent municipality again since July 1, 1990. Ethnographically the village belongs to Hanna .

coat of arms

Bořenovice has a coat of arms and a banner. They were designed by the heraldist Miroslav Pavlů. The coat of arms shows on a green shield symbolizing agriculture a golden linden tree, which is flanked by an eight-pointed star and one on its sides. In the banner, a lily and two linden leaves and stars are depicted on a green background between two golden stripes. The stars symbolize the lords of Sternberg and the lily the lords of Würben.
