history

The first written mention of the village Wezek took place in 1348 as the property of Vladiken Jenczik de Wezek. The family, also called de Wezka , held the estate until 1466. After that, the owners changed frequently, including the families Stojan from Přestavlky, from Zástřizl and Podstatský from Prusinovice . During this time, the festival also fell into desolation. In 1527 the village was called Wezeczky and in 1561 Věžecký . At the beginning of the 17th century, Václav Jindřich Přepyský von Rychnburk had the fortress restored and made it his residence. He fought on the side of the insurgents during the uprising . His widow sold the estate in 1638 and two years later the festival was mentioned for the last time. The brothers Antonín and Leopold Josef de Vajay, who acquired the estate in 1747, had a baroque manor house built in place of the desolate festivals. In 1751 the village was called Wisky or Wiežek . In 1786 the Lords de Vajay sold the estate to the Barons of Weissenburg. Wežky remained an independent allodial property until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Wežky / Weska 1850 a municipality in the district administration Kroměříž. In 1863 the von Weißenburg family sold the estate for 320,000 guilders to the industrialists Abraham Popper, Moritz Redlich and Jonas Friess. Half of the share of Abraham Popper and Moritz Redlich passed to Theodor and Gustav Redlich after their deaths, both of whom were raised to the nobility. In 1907 a new school house was inaugurated. From 1872 the village was called Vežky and since 1924 it is called Věžky . On August 22, 1944, a US fighter plane crashed just under a kilometer east of the village after an aerial battle. After the end of the Second World War, Otto and Felix von Redlich's estates were expropriated and parceled out. In 1961 Vlčí Doly was incorporated. In August 1994, a US fighter plane that had crashed 50 years earlier was excavated. The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 1996.
