history

The first written mention of the village of Wlczidol took place in 1377. Its name derives from the numerous wolf pits that were used by the inhabitants to keep wolves away from the villages after the Slavic settlement of the area. It is therefore assumed that the place originated much earlier. Other names were Wlciedol , Wlezidol , Wlcziedoly (1437), Wlczidoly (1480) and Vlcži Dollj (1616). Jan von Ticích Dol, Zbyněk von Dřínov, Ctibor von Věžky and Mikuláš the Elder belonged to the frequently changing owners. J. von Hrádek. During the Thirty Years' War the village fell almost entirely into desolation. In 1751 the place was called Wlcžidoly . From 1786 the village was parish to Pavlovice u Kojetina . School instruction took place in the local parish school, later instruction was given in Dřínov and Věžky . Until the middle of the 19th century, Wlčjdoly was proportionally divided between the allodial goods Dřínov and Věžky.

After the abolition of patrimonial Wlčjdoly formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Kroměříž. In the second half of the 19th century the village reached its highest population with 240 inhabitants. From 1872 the village was called Vlčí Dol / Wlczidol , the current place name Vlčí Doly has been used since 1893. At the beginning of 1961 Vlčí Doly was incorporated into Věžky. In 1991 the village had 77 inhabitants. At the 2001 census there were 60 people living in the 49 houses of Vlčí Doly.
