history

Archaeological finds prove that the Počenice cadastre was owned since the Neolithic Age . The first written mention of the place took place in 1283 in connection with a Niklas de Pocenicz , who signed as a witness in a document of the Olomouc Jacobi monastery. The place was the ancestral seat of the Vladiken von Pocenicz. In 1355 he was referred to as Poczinicz and Poczenicz . The estate had been divided into numerous parts since the Middle Ages. From this , two villages developed along the old trade route from Kroměříž to Morkovice , which crossed the Tištínka river here - one on the right and the other on the left slope. In each of the two villages there was a fortress and a church. For the first time, a festival can be found in writing in 1418, and the second was also mentioned in 1574. The place name Poczienicz has been used since 1590 . At the transition from the 16th to the 17th century, the church of St. Peter, which stood in the village on the right, and one of the two festivals went out. The Church of St. Gotthard, like the other festivals, went under during the Thirty Years' War. On the site of the lost Church of St. Peter, a new church was built between 1764 and 1768, dedicated to St. Bartholomew was consecrated. Since 1788 the parish school was taught. The owners of the shares changed frequently.

After the abolition of patrimonial , both parts of Počenice / Potschnitz formed a municipality in the Kremsier District Commission from 1850 . In 1886 a new school building was built, which still serves as a primary school today. At the beginning of 1961 the merger with Tetětice to the municipality Počenice-Tetětice took place . In 1991 there were 527 people living in the village. The 2001 census counted 195 houses and 526 residents.
