Castellbell i el Vilar is a municipality in the Catalan comarca of Bages in the province of Barcelona . It has 3647 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and is located on the right bank of the Llobregat at an altitude of 188 meters. The area of ​​the municipality extends to an area of ​​28.18 km².

The village is largely agricultural. The most important industry is the local cotton industry . The Castle Castellbell that in the 14th century in the style of Gothic architecture was built, was with the castle Claramunt on trade route to Barcelona , the most important control point in the lower valley of the Llobregat. The bridge over the river is also dated to the 14th century.
