Santpedor ( Catalan pronunciation: [ ˌsampəˈðɔ ]) is a Spanish municipality and city in the comarca of Bages in the province of Barcelona , Catalonia . Santpedor is located 73 kilometers northwest of Barcelona in the flatter part of the Comarca Bages. The place had 7554 inhabitants in 2019.

The main economic basis is agriculture. There are some industrial establishments, an industrial zone is under development. Sights include the Romanesque-Gothic church of Sant Pere d'Or and the Hermitage of Sant Francesc .

Santpedor's best-known son is Pep Guardiola , former football player and coach from FC Barcelona and since July 1, 2016 coach of Manchester City . There is a modern football field in the village, which is named after him and where the Club de Futbol Santpedor trains and plays its games.

Sandra Sangiao, voice and soul of the Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra (BGKO) was born here.

A few steps south of the municipality is the water reserve Aiguamolls de la Bòbila , an ecosystem with typical vegetation and fauna of wetlands. It has a total area of ​​eight hectares. The existence of this wetland has its origins in the extraction of clay that was used by an old brick factory. When the land surface subsided, the groundwater was brought to the surface. The nature reserve has existed since 1994 with a large variety of plant and animal species.
