The Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd (English: Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd ) are since 1986 UNESCO World Heritage Site . These include four castles that King Edward built in Gwynedd , North Wales , in the 13th century during his castle-building program to secure the conquest of Wales :

as well as the city walls of Conwy and Caernarfon .
