history
During the feudal period , Athis was divided into six fiefdoms : Saint-Vigor , Le Buat , Les Bots , Espinouze , Planquivon and La Fressengère . The center belonged to Saint-Vigor . Already before 1300 the Seigneurie Athis belonged to the Renouf d'Athis family . In 1388 the seigneurie became the property of the House of Falaise . In the mid-15th century, the de Renneville family owned Athis, and in 1634 it passed into the possession of the husband of the last heiress of the family, Jean-Paul de Saint-Germain . In 1740 Marguerite Lemaistre , widow of the seigneur, founded a free school for the poor. In 1767 she became godmother for one of the church bells. Her son was the last seigneur over Athis.
