Ségrie-Fontaine is a village and a former French commune with 405 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Orne department in the Normandy region . It belonged to the canton of Athis-de-l'Orne and the Arrondissement of Argentan .
With effect from January 1, 2016, the previous communes of Athis-de-l'Orne , Bréel , La Carneille , Notre-Dame-du-Rocher , Ronfeugerai , Ségrie-Fontaine , Taillebois and Les Tourailles became a nouvelle commune with the name Athis -Val de Rouvre and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Athis-de-l'Orne.
geography
Ségrie-Fontaine is 14 kilometers northeast of Flers and the river Rouvre flows through it. The village is located in Norman Switzerland , is geologically located on a granite plateau and is surrounded by a hilly landscape.
Culture and sights
There is an old farm in the hamlet of Le Logis , which was built from the stones of the former castle. This belonged to the Marquis of Norville ( Département Seine-Maritime ) and was destroyed during the French Revolution .
Economy and Infrastructure
Of the approximately 650 hectares of community area, around 450 can be used for agriculture. The population is also predominantly agriculturally oriented. However, there is also a bakery, a butcher, a grocery store, a sewing shop, a building and flower market, a wine merchant and a gas station.
