action
The film shows David Lama's attempts to climb Cerro Torre . Together with Peter Ortner , after several years of preparation, he succeeds in doing this on the “ compressor route ” on the south-eastern flank of the mountain without artificial aids .
background
David Lama and Peter Ortner were honored with a special award at the Piolet d'Or 2013 for the project .
criticism
According to Martina Knoben's criticism in the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the film primarily demonstrates the “strong influence of Red Bull” and shows the changes in documentary film. Again and again "what is depicted looks too beautiful" to feel true. Although the film does not re-enact any scenes, it is "not for purists".
