Cevat Seyit (born July 17, 1906 in Istanbul , † November 23, 1945 ) was a Turkish football player . Through his many years of work for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and as a home-grown man, he is strongly associated with this club and viewed by club and fan sites as one of the most important personalities in the club's history.

Player career

Seyit went through the youth department of Fenerbahçe Istanbul and was included in the professional squad during the 1926 season. He came in this season on April 16, 1926 in the game of İstanbul Ligi (German Istanbul League ) against Harbiye SK to use and made his professional debut. Since there was no national professional league in Turkey at that time, regional leagues existed instead in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was considered the most renowned. In the further course of the season Seyit came to three more league appearances and missed with his team the Istanbul championship against arch-rivals Galatasaray Istanbul .

Subsequently, Seyit was an integral part of the team until the mid-1930s. After he and his team won the Istanbul championship in the 1929/30 and 1932/33 seasons , he was also part of the Fenerbahçe team that won three consecutive Istanbul championships in the 1934/35 , 1935/36 and 1936/37 seasons could. Fenerbahçe drew level with arch rivals Galatasaray, which was the first club to reach three consecutive championships. He was also part of the Fenerbahçe team that emerged victorious in the 1936/37 season from Milli Küme , a type of championship tournament in which the teams from the three cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir participated.

After this successful three seasons he ended his career in 1937 at the age of 31.

National team

Seyit began his national team career in 1927 with a commitment for the Turkish national team in a friendly against the Bulgarian national team . By the spring of 1932, he completed five more games.

With the Turkish selection Seyit took part in the 1928 Summer Olympics.
