Chad L. Coleman (born September 6, 1974 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American actor . He has appeared as an actor since 1992 and has since appeared in more than 50 productions. He became known for his role in the television series The Wire . In 2009 he received a Theater World Award for his role in Joe Turner's Come and Gone .
