Chapakot ( Nepali चापाकोट Chapakot ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Syangja district in central Nepal .

The city was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Chapakot , Kuwakot and Ratnapur . Chapakot is located on the left northern bank of the lower reaches of the Kali Gandaki above the confluence of the Jagdee Khola . The urban area covers 49.2 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the town of Chapakot had 12,742 residents (5,396 male) in 2902 households.
