Charles Binamé

Charles Binamé (* 1949 in Herve , Belgium ) is a Belgian-Canadian film director and screenwriter based in Québec .

Life

Binamé came with his family from Belgium to Montreal in 1956, at the age of seven , where he grew up. His parents did not have a television set until 1961. In 1971 he began to gain experience as an assistant director . During the 1970s he made television documentaries about Pierre Vallières and Denis Vanier. He directed television commercials in Québec and England, where he lived for two years in the mid-1980s.

In 1993 his television series Blanche , starring Pascale Bussières , won awards and won a gold FIPA at the International Audiovisual Program Festival in Cannes and seven Gémeaux Awards .
