Charlotte von Bourbon-Parma (Italian: Carlotta di Bourbon, Principessa di Parma; full name: Carlotta Maria Ferdinanda Teresa Anna Giuseppa Giovanna Luisa Vicenza Rosalia) (* on September 1 or 7, 1777 in Parma ; † April 5, 1813 in Rome ) is the third daughter and fourth child of Maria Amalia of Austria and Ferdinand of Parma, Piacenza and Guastalla . She was Infanta of Spain and Princess of Bourbon-Parma.

Life

Charlotte grew up with her six siblings at the court of Parma. Her younger siblings died in childhood. She was the holder of the Royal Order of Mary Louisen . Charlotte entered the Dominican Order in 1797 and spent her novitiate in Parma. She founded a monastery in Colorno under the name Giacinta . As a result of the political changes in the Kingdom of Italy , she had to leave Colorno in 1805. The monastery was dissolved. Charlotte went to Rome into exile in the monastery of Santi Domenico e Sisto where she died in 1813. It was not until 1817 that the remaining nuns from Colorno received permission to found a new monastery.
