The 1989 Chicago Marathon (officially: Old Style Chicago Marathon 1989 ) was the 12th edition of the annual running event in Chicago , United States . The marathon took place on October 29, 1989.

Paul Davies-Hale won in the men in 2:11:25 h, in the women Lisa Weidenbach in 2:28:15 h.
