The 2011 Chicago Marathon was the 34th edition of the annual running event in Chicago , United States . The marathon took place on October 9, 2011 and was the first World Marathon Majors of the year.

In the men’s race, Moses Cheruiyot Mosop won in 2:05:37 h and in the women’s Ejegayehu Dibaba in 2:22:09 h.
