Christian Berg ( May 12, 1966 in Bad OeynhausenJanuary 17, 2022 in Cuxhaven ) was a German author and producer of children 's musicals .

Life

Christian Berg began his stage career in 1983 as a clown at the Swiss Circus Stey . From 1984 to 1987 he attended drama school in Hamburg . In 1988 he founded a touring theater for children and families. In 1998 he founded the summer theater in the palace gardens (Cuxhaven).

In 1999 he met the singer- songwriter Konstantin Wecker for the first time , with whom he wrote the children's musical Jim Button and Luke the Locomotive Driver based on the children's book of the same name by Michael Ende . As a result, numerous other musicals were created in collaboration with Konstantin Wecker. He also wrote the children's books Tamino Pinguin (2001) and Little Monster Monstantin (2010). Christian Berg's works are among the most frequently performed children's musicals in the German-speaking world.

Christian Berg lived in Cuxhaven. He died in January 2022 at the age of 55 after a long illness.
