Christian Schwarzenholz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christian Schwarzenholz (born December 15, 1951 in Osterode am Harz ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , later PDS and SPD ). From 1994 to 1999 he was a member of the Greens in the Lower Saxony state parliament . After that, he was a non-attached member of parliament until 2003, but as a member of the PDS, of which he was the first member of the state parliament in West Germany.

Life

Schwarzenholz attended elementary school in Bad Grund and Bad Gandersheim , where he also went to secondary school. He then did an apprenticeship in the state service in Hanover from 1968 to 1973 and then worked as an administrative officer for the city of Braunschweig until 1991 , most recently as deputy head of the building administration office. From 1991 until his election to the state parliament three years later, he was a member of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment .

Schwarzenholz became a member of the trade union and the Federation for Environment and Nature Conservation Germany during his training . He was also a member of the VVN . He was a member of the Vechelde local council and councilor of the Vechelde community . He was also a member of the district council in the Peine district from 1991 to 1995 .

Until his retirement in 2016, Schwarzenholz headed the department for fundamental matters, energy and climate protection law as well as for electricity and gas networks in the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection .

politics

Schwarzenholz belonged to the Young Democrats (DJD) and the FDP at the end of the 1960s . Because of his “anti-parliamentary” left stance, he was expelled from the FDP at the end of 1969, as was the DJD state chairman Peter R. Tempel. As a result, he became involved in the Radical Democratic Youth , a spin-off of the then FDP-loyal wing of the Lower Saxony young democrats, in which he was temporarily acting deputy state chairman. Even at this time he felt the " liberalism for reactionary and demanded its consistent further development of socialism ". The regional arbitration tribunal of the Young Democrats also excluded him from their ranks as spokesman for the left parliamentary group in September 1970 on the basis of the thesis that Marxism and liberalism were compatible with one another.

In 1986 Schwarzenholz joined the Greens and has worked in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment since 1991 . As a result of the state election in 1994 , he moved into the state parliament of Lower Saxony via the state list of the Greens, where he was the environmental policy spokesman for his party. After differences with the party over the atomic consensus , he resigned at the beginning of January 1999 and joined the PDS on January 7th. He ignored requests from his former party to give up his mandate and was a non-attached member of parliament until 2003 . From October 15, 2000 to the Gera party congress of the PDS in October 2002, he was a member of the party executive. Annoyed by the party's shift to the left associated with the party congress, he announced that he would vote for the SPD in the 2003 state elections and was therefore expelled from the PDS in March 2003. The following June, the exclusion was lifted after an objection by Schwarzenholz. Nevertheless, he left the party shortly afterwards and joined the SPD in 2005 .

After leaving the state parliament, Schwarzenholz returned to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment as an energy officer.
