Christian Seiler (lawyer)

Christian Seiler (born April 17, 1967 in Dortmund ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

After Seiler had attended the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Dortmund from 1977 to 1986 , graduated from high school and trained as a bank clerk at Dresdner Bank in Dortmund from 1986 to 1989 , he worked for a few years at Dresdner Bank and as a loan officer at Bank of Sturgeon Bay, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin ( USA ) busy. From 1989 to 1990 Seiler in the army and took the winter semester 1990/91, the study of law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg on. After moving to Heidelberg University , he passed the first state examination in law in 1995 . After completing his legal clerkship in Baden-Württemberg from 1995 to 1997 at the Heidelberg Regional Court , he passed the second state examination in 1997.

In 1997 Seiler became a research associate and in 1999 received his doctorate . In 2001 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Finance and Tax Law at the University of Heidelberg , Chair Paul Kirchhof . Seiler completed his habilitation , so that in 2003 he was granted the license to teach “ Public Law , European Law , Constitutional History, General Political Science and Tax Law ”. In 2004 he was appointed university lecturer. From 2003 to 2004 he represented various professors at Heidelberg University. Between 2004 and 2009 he was a full professor at the University of Erfurt . Since the summer semester 2009 he has been a full professor at the University of Tübingen and holds the chair for constitutional and administrative law, finance and tax law.

On July 1, 2012, Seiler became a judge at the State Court for the State of Baden-Württemberg, which has been called the Constitutional Court for the State of Baden-Württemberg since December 5, 2015 .

Christian Seiler is married and has four children.
