Christian Tester

Christian Tester (born August 30, 1850 in Parpan , † July 8, 1918 in Horn TG ) was a Swiss Reformed clergyman and writer .

Life

Christian Tester was born as the son of a pastor from Safien on August 30, 1850 in Parpan in the canton of Graubünden . After attending the Cantonal School in Chur , St. Gallen and Basel , he studied theology at the University of Zurich . On June 30, 1873, he was accepted into the Evangelical-Rhaetian Synod in Flims . Because he was allowed to work as a pastor in the Free State of the Three Leagues , he took over the pastoral posts of Nufenen GR and Medels in the Rhine Forest in the same year . In 1875 he moved to Bussnang , stayed there until 1893 and was a pastor in Rorschach . A new church was built there, which Tester consecrated on June 5, 1904. For Dean of the Cathedral Chapter elected in St. Gallen City in 1905, he was appointed editor of the following year religious people sheet set. In 1911 he left the editorial office and retired the following year, which he spent in Horn. Tester died there on July 8, 1918 at the age of 67.
