Christian Wendler (born November 20, 1989 in Düsseldorf ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing for the Füchse Duisburg in the major league since the 2019/20 season .

Career

As a child and adolescent he started at what was then EC Ratingen from 1995 to 1997. When the ECR moved to Oberhausen, he played for the next club, Ratinger Ice Aliens, from 1997 to 2001 .

In 2001 he moved from Ratingen to Essen . There he played for two years before moving to the highest junior league, the German Junior League . In the DNL he played for the Krefeld EV . During the 2004/05 season he played his first DEL game for the penguins. After the DNL, ​​he spent his first professional year in 2007 with the Lausitzer Füchsen . In addition, he was equipped with a sponsorship license for the Frankfurt Lions , for which he was not used.

He also competes for the Lausitzer Füchse in the 2008/2009 season . He did not receive a funding license this year. In the summer of 2009 he left the foxes and moved to the upper league at EHC Dortmund. After two years with the Elchen, he moved to the Frankfurt Löwen in the 2011/12 season within the Oberliga . In the 2013/14 season he was in goal for the Hammer Eisbären and then switched to the Mosquitos Essen in the 2014/15 season . In the following seasons 2015/16 to 2017/18 he was in goal for Herner EV , then switched back to Moskitos Essen for the 2018/19 season. He has currently been in goal with the Füchsen in Duisburg since the beginning of the 2019/20 season .
