Christiane Schenderlein (born October 17, 1981 in Weißenfels ) is a German political scientist and politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) and communications consultant.

Life

Schenderlein grew up in Leipzig and lives with her family in the northern Saxony district in Taucha . She is Protestant , married and has three children.

education

Schenderlein attended the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Leipzig , where she graduated from high school in 2000 . From 2000 to 2006 she studied political science , media and communication studies and history at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the University of Leipzig , completing a Magister Artium . She then received a doctorate in political science on the subject of " Representative Office in the decision-making process of the European Union " with summa cum laude for Dr. phil. at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

Professional background

From 2009 to 2019 she was office manager in the Bundestag and head of the constituency office of the former Saxon CDU parliamentary group leader Frank Kupfer .

Until 2019 she worked as a communications consultant in a consulting and communications company in Leipzig.

Political career

In 1998, at the age of 16, she joined the Junge Union and the CDU .

Since 2015 she has been a member of the state board of the SME and Economic Union in the CDU regional association of Saxony . Since 2019 she has also been deputy district chairwoman of the Mittelstandsunion Nordsachsen.

At the CDU district party conference on October 20, 2017, Schenderlein was elected along with three other people as deputy district chairman for district chairman Marian Wendt on the district executive board of the CDU North Saxony .

In 2018, Schenderlein was elected by the general assembly as chairwoman of the city association on the board of the CDU Taucha .

In the election for the district assembly of North Saxony on May 26, 2019, Schenderlein received 1,063 votes in her constituency. The CDU achieved three seats in its constituency. After the long-time CDU district councilor Axel Wohlschläger (1,743 votes) died on June 14, 2019, Schenderlein took over the honorary office of district councilor in the northern Saxony district in fourth place.

After the state election in Saxony in 2019 on September 1, 2019, she moved into the 7th Saxon state parliament via the state list in October 2019. As the goals of her candidacy as a member of the state parliament, she stated that she was committed to reliable health care in rural areas, advancing infrastructure, internal security and attractive family offers and the contact person for North Saxon entrepreneurs, as well as for associations, churches, municipalities and families - for everyone who seeks conversation - to be.

The members of the CDU North Saxony elected Schenderlein at the district party conference on November 8, 2019 with 95 percent of the votes as the new district chairman.

The state party conference of the CDU Saxony elected on November 16, 2019, elected Schenderlein as an assessor in the state executive. In addition to the Lord Mayor of Torgau , Romina Barth , Schenderlein is a delegate at federal and state party conferences of the CDU and represents the region of Northern Saxony .

Further memberships

Schenderlein is a member of the Friends of the Bundeswehr Leipzig eV and a member of the Association of Reservists of the German Armed Forces .

Since December 2014 she has been the head of the parish of St. Moritz Taucha-Dewitz-Sehlis.

In May 2020 she was sent to the ZDF television council by the Saxon state government . There she is on the Finance and Telemedicine Committee.
