Christoph Ferber
Christoph Ferber (born June 10, 1954 in Singen , Germany ) is a Swiss translator and literary scholar .
biography
Christoph Ferber was born in Singen in 1954 as the son of the German publicist Walter Ferber and grew up in Sachseln , Canton Obwalden . He studied Slavic studies , Romance studies and art history at the Universities of Zurich , Lausanne and Venice and doctorate Dr. phil. Until 2010 he was a lecturer at the University of Catania .
Christoph Ferber translates from Russian, Italian and French. In 2014 he was awarded the special translation prize in the Swiss Literature Prize for his complete work in translation, and in 2016 he received the Paul Scheerbart Prize for the translation of the volume of poetry Was remains (if it remains) by Eugenio Montale .
He translated numerous authors such as Zinaida Hippius , Vyacheslav Ivanov , Mikhail Lermontov , Fyodor Sologub , Fyodor Tyutchev , Stephane Mallarme , Werner Renfer , Jean-Pierre Schlunegger, Aurelio Buletti, Vincenzo Cardarelli , Francesco Chiesa , Remo Fasani, Pietro De Marchi , Eugenio Montale , Giorgio Orelli , Giovanni Orelli , Sandro Penna , Salvatore Quasimodo , Gaspara Stampa and others.
