Christoph Haussner

Christoph Haußner (born March 1, 1958 in Augsburg ) is a German painter and graphic artist.

life and work

After graduating from the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich (1977) and completing military service , he did an internship as a barrel painter and gilder . He was active in the Corps Suevia Munich (1978) and Saxonia Leipzig zu Augsburg (1979). From 1979 he studied art education and German at the Ludwig Maximilians University . After passing the two state exams for teaching , he became a study assessor in 1986 . He works as a freelancer . From 1996 to 1998 he was a member of the archaeological excavation team in Troy and a draftsman for the documentation of finds . He is a member of the Free Munich and German Art Association and its jury. He lives and works in Munich.

His free work can be assigned to symbolism . Since 1999 he has worked as a co-author and illustrator on many books, including Troy (2004) and Three Legions for Rome (2008). For the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Sunday Times , National Geographic and PM Magazin he provided photo contributions. He received public orders from Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and Munich , especially from the State Archaeological Collection . Since 1978 his works have been exhibited in Germany ( Arnstadt , Benediktbeuern Monastery , Bonn , Braunschweig , Munich, Nuremberg , Stuttgart ), Austria ( Gmunden , Güssing , Schallaburg ) and Hungary ( Békés , Budapest ). In 2006 he received the Water Lily Prize of the City of Munich.

The older brother Michael Haußner was State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Justice.
