Christoph Herrmann (legal scholar)

Christoph Herrmann (* 1973 in Düsseldorf ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

Christoph Herrmann grew up in Wesel . He studied law with additional training in economics ( business lawyer ) in Bayreuth (first state examination 1999) as well as European and international business law at the University of London ( LL.M. European Law 2000). After graduating as Dr. jur. at the University of Bayreuth in 2002 and the preparatory service in Bayreuth, Brussels , Munich and Speyer , he passed the second state examination in 2005 in Munich. From 2001 to 2003 he was a research assistant , from 2003 to 2009 research assistant to Rudolf Streinz , initially at the University of Bayreuth and at the University of Munich . From 2006 to 2007 he was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute . In the summer semester of 2008 he held a chair for European law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . Since 2009 he has held the chair, now for constitutional and administrative law, European law, and European and international business law in Passau . After completing his habilitation in Munich in 2009, he turned down calls to Würzburg (2011), Saarbrücken (2014) and Salzburg (2018).
