Christoph Koschel (born April 9, 1976 in Hamburg ) is a German dressage rider and international trainer.

In total, by 2010 Koschel had over 400 victories and placings in S-class tests and over 200 successes in national and international Grand Prix, Grand Prix Spécial and Grand Prix Freestyle competitions. Koschel is married and has two sons.

Koschel is a seven-time junior regional champion in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein . At the age of 15 he won his first advanced level dressage and at the age of 16 he was awarded the golden riding badge. He was also the youngest participant in the Nuremberg Castle Cup finals. He is a two-time German junior vice-champion. In 1993 Koschel won the Prize of the Best and was also the Junior European Team Champion, in the individual he won bronze. A year later he became the European Young Rider Team Champion in Bern . In 1998 he was accepted into the German B-squad. In 2009 he won the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek on Fantomas . At the Stuttgart German Masters he was Vice-German Master with Donnperignon .

In 2010 he was accepted into the championship squad with Donnperignon . At the German championship he won the bronze medal for his freestyle with Donnperignon . A year later he won the silver medal with Donnperignon in the same competition.

After studying law, he and his father, the internationally renowned dressage trainer Jürgen Koschel , started their own business in Hagen aTW at the Beckerode farm. The two have also been hired by the DOKR as honorary trainers and supervise a. also German eventing riders.

At the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky he won team bronze with Anabel Balkenhol , Matthias Alexander Rath and Isabell Werth . In the special he came in sixth as the best German. At the European Dressage Championships 2011 he rode Donnperignon again and won the silver medal with the team, in the individual Grand Prix Spécial he was tenth.

In October 2011 he sold his championship horse Donnperignon to the Danish dressage rider Anna Kasprzak - daughter of the owner of the ECCO Group , Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak. At the German Championships in 2013 he came eighth in the Grand Prix Spécial and in the freestyle with Rostropowitsch NRW .
