Christoph Steinert (born January 18, 1990 in Berlin ) is a German handball player .

career

Steinert started playing handball at SV Lokomotive Rangsdorf at the age of 13 after playing soccer in Berlin . Four years later he moved to the A-Jugend of SC Magdeburg , where he made his Bundesliga debut in 2008 . In 2010 he joined Bundesliga relegated GWD Minden and celebrated promotion there two years later as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga . After Steinert relegated with Minden after the 2014/15 season, he moved to SC DHfK Leipzig . His contract in Minden ran until 2016, but was only valid for the Bundesliga. For the 2017/18 season he joined HC Erlangen . In summer 2019 he returned to SC Magdeburg.

Steinert completed a total of 36 international matches for the DHB (juniors and youth) and was U-18 European champion in 2008 and U-21 world champion in 2011 with the national team .
