Moritz Preuss (born February 22, 1995 in Dachau ) is a German handball player who plays in the handball Bundesliga for SC Magdeburg .
Career
society
Preuss played from 2003 at TSV Bayer Dormagen , with whose B youth team he became German champion in 2012. As early as the 2012/13 season, while still in the A-youth , he made his first appearances in the third division . On February 22, 2014, he tore a cruciate ligament in his left knee in the game against VfL Eintracht Hagen and had to take a break for several months as a result. For the 2014/15 season , the 1.94-meter-tall runner moved to the then first division club Bergischer HC , where he signed a contract until 2016, which was extended early in 2015 to 2017. Then he joined VfL Gummersbach . In 2019 he moved to SC Magdeburg .
National team
Preuss has been part of the elite squad of the German Handball Federation since 2010 . With the U-18 national team, he won the 2012 European Championship in Austria . At the U21 World Cup in Brazil in 2015 , where the German team finished third, he was the most successful goalscorer in the quarter-finals in a 43:37 win against Belarus with 17 goals. On March 18, 2017, Preuss made his debut for the senior national team in the international match against Sweden. He has played 5 games so far in which he scored 4 goals.
