Franz Anton Christoph Trefurt (born February 10, 1790 in Neckarbischofsheim , † July 28, 1861 in Lichtental (Baden-Baden) ) was a Baden lawyer and statesman.

Trefurt was the son of the lordly Helmstatt consul and bailiff in Neckarbischofsheim Joseph Wilhelm Franz Trefurt and his wife Maria Catharina Neidig. Trefurt, a Catholic denomination, married Elisabetha Link, the daughter of the innkeeper Anton Link, on September 28, 1815 in Bruchsal. On September 1, 1833, he married Maria Lem (m) erich, Verw. Se (e) ger, the widow of Captain Se (e) ger.

Life

Trefurt studied from 1806 Law at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg . He became a member of Rhenania I and Suevia I and on March 27, 1810 was one of the founders of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg, which still exists today . In 1809 he was a legal intern. He took part in the Wars of Liberation in 1814 and 1815. He then became a lawyer in Bruchsal . In 1819 he was appointed official assessor in Pforzheim. After he retired from 1824 to 1833 for health reasons, he joined the Baden judiciary in 1833 as a senior judge in Rastatt . In 1835 he came to the court judge in Mannheim . In 1840 he was promoted to court director in Freiburg and in 1845 appointed vice-chancellor of the upper court in Mannheim and an extraordinary member of the State Council. In 1847 he was appointed President of the Ministry of Justice and a full member of the Council of State in the Bekk cabinet as successor to Isaak Jolly .

Retired in 1848, he was appointed Upper Court Chancellor in Mannheim in 1849 and appointed President of the Chamber of Accounts in 1851. In 1861, at the age of 71, he retired of his own accord.

Trefurt was the author of numerous political writings.

Parliamentarians

Trefurt was from 1833 to 1848 and from 1850 to 1854 a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly , from 1833 to 1842 as a member of the electoral district 29 (Bruchsal district and places of the Eppingen office), from 1842 to 1846 of the city electoral district 8 (Karlsruhe) from 1846 to 1848 of the electoral district 1 (Überlingen) and from 1850 to 1854 of the electoral district 6 (offices of Tiengen, Jestetten, Sankt Blasien and Waldshut). In the years 1842, 1850 and 1851 he was Second Vice President of the Chamber and from 1851 to 1852 First Vice President of the Chamber.

In 1850 he was a member of the state house of the Erfurt Union Parliament , elected by the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly as a member of the Grand Duchy of Baden. From 1857 to 1860 he was a member of the First Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly.
