features

The representatives of the Chuniophoeniceae are very versatile in their reproductive and vegetative morphology. They are once ( hapaxanth ) or several times flowering, hermaphroditic or dioecious unisexual ( dioecious ). The leaves are folded induplicate. They are palmat or costapalmat. The flowers are solitary or in simple coils . Each flower stands in the axilla of a completely tubular bract . The gynoeceum is synkarp, the three carpels are fused at the base. The stylus are separated or continuously fused.
