The Cima del Grostè (sometimes also called Cima Grostè ) is, according to the map, a 2898 meter high summit (Italian: Cima ) in the Brenta Group , a mountain range in the southern Limestone Alps in the Italian province of Trento . He is the namesake of the Grostè massif in the northern part of the Brenta. The mountain has a flattened shape to the north and west, only to the east it shows a 300-meter-high wall made of the main dolomite, which is characteristic of the area . It is insignificant for climbers, but thanks to the Sentiero delle Bocchette path, which is partially developed as a via ferrata , in the Via Benini section , which circles it to the east, it is well developed and easy to climb.

Surroundings

The Grostè is located in the northern part of the Brenta group, the Grostè massif. Adjacent mountains are in the south, separated by the Bocchetta di Camosci , a deep, rubble-filled gorge, the Campanile dei Camosci (Italian campanile for bell tower ), with a height of 2914 meters, as well as the 2988 meter high Cima Falkner . To the north, the Grostè sends a weak, long ridge down to the heavily used Passo del Grostè (2446 m), with the mountain station of the Cabinovia Grostè cable car , 2nd section. Beyond the pass are the 2936 meter high Pietra Grande and the Cima Vagliana (2864 m). To the west the area runs out into the Vallesinella ( Sinella valley ), to the northeast into the Val di Santa Maria della Flavona . The closest villages in the north-west are Madonna di Campiglio in the Campigliotal , about 7 kilometers away as the crow flies , in the south-east is Molveno on Lake Molveno and about 13 km in the south, San Lorenzo in Banale .

The normal route (easiest ascent) on the Grostè leads from the Rifugio Giorgio Graffer al Grostè (2261 m), at the mountain station of the Grostè cable car, over the Via Alfredo Benini to the flat north side of the mountain, via which the summit cross can be easily reached.
