CinEScultura

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

cinEScultura is a Spanish film and culture festival that takes place annually in Regensburg . The festival emerged in 2008 from a project seminar at the University of Regensburg . On the one hand, the festival was intended to create a forum for the distribution of Spanish-language films in Germany and, on the other, to offer university students a practice-oriented project in cultural management . It is a collaboration between the Research Center Spain at the Institute for Romance Studies and the Verein Arbeitskreis Film Regensburg e. V.

development

The festival began as a film show of Spanish films under the name 'Cinemania'. In 2011, cinEScultura, the current name of the film festival , opened a window to Latin America . Each year the festival is dedicated to a Spanish autonomous region and a Latin American country. The film screenings are accompanied by various cultural events. Academic conferences, readings, concerts, dance and theater performances and art exhibitions take place as part of the festival. Some events take place in cooperation with cultural institutes such as the Instituto Cervantes in Munich or the Catalan Cultural Center. The 2013 Film and Culture Festival was selected by the Spanish Association of Public Cultural Supporters as one of the ten most innovative initiatives in the field of Spanish cultural work.

Previous guests at the festival include directors Francisco Lombardi and Sergio Cabrera . Artists like Francisco Mata Rosas, Fernando de la Jara , Aleix Saló and Javier Mariscal, the musicians Santiago Auserón, Silvia Pérez Cruz, and Kiko Veneno , as well as authors like Javier Cercas , María Barbal, and Gioconda Belli have been guests at the festival in recent years.
