Clémence Calvin (born May 17, 1990 in Vichy ) is a French long-distance runner .

Athletic career

At the European Cross Country Championships in Belgrade in 2013 , Calvin won as an individual 12. with the team the silver medal. On August 13, 2014 she won the silver medal in the 10,000 meter run at the European Championships in Zurich in 32: 23.58 minutes .

In 2015 and 2016, Calvin canceled her participation in major international events ( 2015 World Championships and 2016 European Championships ) due to the effects of the virus.

In 2018, Calvin finished 28th at the Half Marathon World Championships in Valencia in March. In mid-June, as the winner of the Corrida de Langueux , she improved the French national record held by Nadia Prasad over 10 kilometers by 18 seconds to 31:20 minutes. Almost two months later, Calvin made her marathon debut at the European Championships in Berlin, where she finished 6 seconds behind the Belarusian Wolha Masuronak for silver.

In early April 2019, French media reported that Calvin had fled doping control officers in Morocco at the end of March. According to the regulations of the World Anti-Doping Agency , a refused test is counted in the same way as a positive test. Calvin was then temporarily suspended by the French anti-doping agency, but two days later he was able to obtain the lifting of the ban in court shortly before her planned start at the Paris Marathon . In Paris, she placed fourth with a French national record in 2:23:41 h. In December 2019, Calvin was banned for four years.
