Claes Hake
Claes Anders Ragnar Hake (born February 7, 1945 in Mölndal , Västra Götaland ) is a Swedish graphic artist and sculptor .
life and work
Hake grew up in Gothenburg and studied graphics at Konstshögkolan Valand . At first he worked as a poster painter , which brought him to sculpture . His material was initially plastic , later he mainly worked with natural stone . His preferred material was the red Bohus granite from the Bohuslän deposit in southern Sweden. His works can be found in public spaces in Sweden, Norway , Denmark , Germany and the United States, as well as in Swedish museums and sculpture parks .
On October 30, 2008, the memorial he created for the 63 young victims who died in a discotheque fire in Gothenburg in 1998 was opened by King Carl XVI of Sweden . Gustaf revealed. The names and ages of the victims were engraved on the monument, which is made of polished hard stone , the syenite Labrador Hell .
The artist lives and works in Gothenburg.
