Claudia Reidick , also known as Claudia Zaczkiewicz , (born July 4, 1962 in Oberhausen ) is a former German athlete and Olympic medalist who - starting for the Federal Republic - was successful in the 100-meter hurdles .

Life

It reached the final at the German Championships in 1983 for the first time. In 1986 she became German runner-up and took part in the European Championships in Stuttgart , where she was eliminated in the preliminary stages. The following year she became German champion for the first time and finished seventh at the World Championships in Rome in 12.98 s.

At the German Championships in 1988 she was able to defend her title and qualified for the XXIV Olympic Games in Seoul . There she won the bronze medal behind Bulgarian Jordanka Donkowa and Gloria Siebert from the GDR . In 1987 and 1988 she improved the German record three times up to her personal best of 12.75 s in Seoul.

In 1989 Zaczkiewicz became German champion for the third time in a row and started for the European team at the World Cup in Barcelona. The following year she was German runner-up and took part in the European Championships in Split , where she did not get beyond the run-up. In 1991 she became German indoor champion over 60 meters.

She took part in the European Cups in 1987 and 1989, the European Indoor Championships in 1987 and 1988 and the 1991 World Indoor Championships . She was also six times German university champion and took part in two Universiades , in 1989 she won two bronze medals, over 100 meter hurdles and with the 4 x 100 meter relay . After the end of the 1992 season, she resigned.

Claudia Reidick started for KSV Hessen Kassel , from 1982 to 1989 for MTG Mannheim , where she trained with Rüdiger Harksen , and TSG 1862 Weinheim . In her active time, she was 1.69 m tall and 58 kg. She studied special education and was called Claudia Zaczkiewicz after her marriage. Because of mix-ups, she and her family took their maiden name Reidick in 1996. She worked in her husband's medical practice and later became a sports teacher at the Leininger grammar school in Grünstadt. For the 2013/14 season she took over the field of mental sport psychological support for the youth teams in the youth performance center of 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
