Clematoclethra scandens is a plant from the family of the ray pen family (Actinidiaceae) and the only representative of the genus. It is based in China.
description
Clematoclethra scandens is a climbing, deciduous, woody plant. The inflorescence is a single bloom or up to zwölfblütige Zyme . The flower is hermaphroditic or unisexual. The sepals are fused at the base, the petals white or reddish. There are around ten to thirty stamens , their stamens are broadened at the base, the anthers open lengthways.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.
The ovary is round, a pentagon and has five, sometimes four compartments with numerous ovules on. The stylus is simple and not obsolete, the small scar swollen. The fruit is blackish and berry-like. Nothing is known about pollination, insects are suspected. Crystal sand was detected.

Clematoclethra scandens is found in the undergrowth of mountain forests above 1000 to 3100 meters in Chongqing , Gansu , Guangxi , Guizhou , Henan , Hubei , Ningxia , Qinghai , Shaanxi , Shanxi , Sichuan and Yunnan .
Systematics and botanical history
Clematoclethra scandens Maxim. is the only species in its genus. Other types such as B. Clematoclethra lasioclada Maxim. are considered synonyms.
