Clemens Kuby (born November 17, 1947 in Herrsching am Ammersee ) is a German documentary filmmaker and author .

Life and work

Kuby grew up in Upper Bavaria as the son of the publicist Erich Kuby . He has four siblings, including Gabriele Kuby . He is a nephew of the economist Fritz Schumacher and the physicist Werner Heisenberg . From 1963 to 1967 he attended the Odenwald School in Ober-Hambach . He then studied history , sociology , law and economics at the Free University in Berlin and from 1969 to 1972 attended the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin , where he completed a course in film directing.

Kuby made three films about organic farming between 1973 and 1975 . In 1979 he co-founded the party Die Grünen in Baden-Württemberg. After the party was established as a federal party, he left it due to power struggles in early 1981.

In the same year, Kuby fell from a height of 15 meters from the roof of his house. He was diagnosed with paraplegia , but within a year he healed spontaneously and was able to walk again. Then he began to film with topics such as Buddhism , spiritual healing and alternatives to the "Western, materialistic way of life" to deal with.

In 2005 Kuby and his wife Astrid founded the European Academy for Self-Healing Processes (SHP). It organizes training seminars, sells books and offers advice over the phone.
