Coșbuc ( Hungarian Hordó ) is a municipality in the Bistrița-Năsăud district in Romania .
location
Coșbuc is located in northern Transylvania on the Sălăuța River . The national road 17C and the Salva – Vişeu de Jos railway line run through the town, and a train station is located in the north of the town. To the south is Salva 7 km away .
history
Until 1925 the name of the village was Hordou . The community was reorganized by an ordinance of May 30, 2004; the village of Bichigiu came from Coşbuc to Telciu .
population
Almost exclusively Romanians live in the community . In the 2002 census, one of the 3006 inhabitants (including Bichigiu) described himself as a gypsy , the rest as Romanians.
Infrastructure
In addition to a kindergarten, there is a school in the village. 690 households are shown in 652 buildings.
Personalities
George Coşbuc was born on September 20, 1866 in the village of Hordou (now Coşbuc) in the house of the Greek Catholic priest Sebastian Coşbuc. He died on May 9, 1918 in Bucharest. George Coșbuc was a poet, translator, teacher and journalist and from 1916 a member of the Romanian Academy.
