Romuli ( Hungarian Romoly ) is a municipality in the Bistrița-Năsăud district in Romania .
location
Romuli is in the north of Transylvania . 19 km to the northwest is the next small town, Săliştea de Sus .
history
The first name of the village was Strâmba . The village got this name from a tributary of the Sălăuța river called Izvorul Strâmbei ( Strâmba source ).
population
Almost exclusively Romanians live in the community . In the 2002 census, five of the 1,755 residents at the time claimed to be Hungarian , two German and one Ukrainian . In the village Romuli itself lived 1330 inhabitants, the remaining 425 in the incorporated town Dealul Ștefăniței .
traffic
The important national road DN 17C runs through Romuli. The station on the Salva – Vișeu de Jos railway line is high up on the slope . After Cluj-Napoca and Sighetu Marmaţiei run daily three buses to Bistriţa four buses.
Attractions
- "Zăvoaiele Borcutului" nature reserve, approx. 1 hectare in size
- Rodna Mountains National Park and Drumul Verde Tourist Route
