history
There are no exact dates about the establishment of the place. The area was first mentioned in 1245 under the Hungarian King Béla IV under the Latin name Vallis Rodnensis . It was partially autonomous and had special rights. The later attested name Chsech is probably of Slavic origin and means "calf". It comes from the calf rearing of the inhabitants.
The area was administered according to ancient traditions. The residents had to pay an annual tax of 130 gold coins to the Hungarian king.
On June 3, 1475, King Matthias Corvinus wrote a letter that determined the future affiliation of the region to the Districtus Saxonicus - that is, to the area of the Transylvanian Saxons . The region should belong to the city of Bistitz forever . The residents then had to pay the same taxes as the Saxons.
According to the Emergency Ordinance No. 30 of May 5, 2004, the community was reorganized. The village of Bichigiu , which until then belonged to Coşbuc , was assigned to the municipality of Telciu.
