The Connemara is a combined ferry operated by the Swedish shipping company Stena RoRo. The ship is in charter with Brittany Ferries .

history

The ship was built in 2007 on the basis of the NAOS-P-250 design under hull number 216 at the Italian shipyard Cantiere Navale Visentini in Porto Viro . The ship should start sailing as Stena Ausonia .

While it was still being built, Stena RoRo chartered the ship to the Spanish shipping company , which operated the ship between Barcelona and the Balearic Islands from 2007 to 2010 .

The ship was then chartered to Ave Line and used as the Baltic Amber between Travemünde and Ventspils or Riga . From October 2010 to February 2011 the ship sailed for DFDS Seaways and replaced the Lisco Gloria, which was destroyed by fire , on the Klaipėda  - Kiel route . The Baltic Amber sailed the route for the first time from October 17, 2010. After the Lisco Optima was used on the route from February 2, 2011 , the Baltic Amber was returned to the owner Stena RoRo.

From the beginning of December 2011, the ship drove for LD Lines , which used it on the Saint-Nazaire  - Gijón route, among others . In June 2011 the ship was renamed Norman Asturias .

Since the end of September 2014, the ship has been chartered by Intershipping on the route between Algeciras and Tangier .

From February 2016, ANEK Lines used the ship as an Asterion .

Since April 2018 the ship has been operating as Connemara for Brittany Ferries between Santander and Cork .
