Constantin Frățilă (born October 1, 1942 in Bucharest , † 2016 ) was a Romanian football player . The striker played a total of 221 games in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , and was the top scorer in the 1963/64 season .

Career as a player

Frățilă's career began in his hometown of Bucharest at Dinamo Bucharest , where he came into the first team squad in the 1960/61 season . On April 16, 1961 he got his first assignment there in the highest Romanian league, Divizia A (today League 1 ). In his first season he was able to score seven goals in seven games and develop into a regular player.

In the following years Frățilă was an important part of the team and won the Romanian championship four times in a row with Dinamo in 1962 , 1963 , 1964 and 1965 . In the 1963/64 season he also secured the top scorer's crown with Cornel Pavlovici with 19 goals. During his ten years at Dinamo, he also won the Romanian Cup in 1964 and 1968 .

In 1970 Frățilă left the capital and moved to league rivals FC Argeş Piteşti . There he was able to secure his fifth championship in the 1971/72 season . After two years he first moved to Sportul Studențesc , and in autumn 1972 he moved abroad to Omonia Nicosia . He crowned his time in Cyprus with winning the Cup in 1974.

In the summer of 1974 Frățilă returned to Romania and joined the Divizia A promoted Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea . At Chimia, however, he did not get the chance as expected and switched to Divizia C for Sirena Bucharest during the winter break , where he ended his career in 1975.

National team

Constantin Frățilă played seven games for the Romanian national football team . He made his debut on November 2, 1966 in the European Championship qualifier against Switzerland , when he shot his colors to victory with three hits. In the following games, national coach Ilie Oană built on him and Frățilă paid back the trust with goals. Nevertheless, he came only to seven missions in which he could score seven hits. His last international match was on March 22, 1967, a friendly against France .

Career as a coach

In the 1984/85 season Frățilă was the head coach of FC Baia Mare in Divizia A , but had to relegate with the club at the end of the season.
