The Cornettes de Bise is a 2432 meter high mountain in the Chablais massif in the Savoy Alps . It is located on the border between the commune of La Chapelle-d'Abondance in the French department of Haute-Savoie and the commune of Vouvry in the Swiss canton of Valais . It is the highest mountain in the chain between Lake Geneva and the Val d'Illiez . To the west of the mountain is the Lac de Bise with the Refuge de Bise of the Club Alpin Français .
Around the Cornettes de Bise, an area of 1,551 hectares was designated as a Natura 2000 protected area.
In 1906, a license application for the construction of a rack railway from the Swiss Saint-Gingolph to the neighboring Grammont was submitted to the Swiss federal authorities, an extension to the Cornettes de Bise was planned. The railway was not built.
