The Couze is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It rises in the Monts d'Ambazac mountainous region in the municipality of Saint-Léger-la-Montagne , generally drains in a north-westerly direction, is dammed up several times to form lakes and flows into the Gartempe as a left tributary at the municipal boundary of Rancon and Balledent . At the mouth of the river, the river branches into several arms.
